for a new user? I’m looking at starting a workout regiment and have little knowledge of proper form and exercising. Im also tall, 6′5” or so.
I will be buying used, what parts should I inspect for wear, problems, etc…
Last, where can I get a video that will show me proper form and use? in case the machine doesn’t come with one.
Thanks to all who respond

Hey I was thinking about buying the Insanity Workout, I need cardio and really hate the treadmill, too boring.. Insanity looks like its fun cause it’ll kick my ass, Deff doesn’t look boring.
I wanted to know if I would be able to do it in the morning and then weight train with my Bowflex at night.
Also how did you like Insanity and how were your results.. if you have any tips you can give me with Insanity it would be great. Thanks.

Im maybe 30-40 lbs overweight and I wanted to know if I do this how long should it take before I loose my weight and will I tighten up as well because of my metabolism working. I know with building muscle you should work out every other day to let your muscle heal but is it the same for toning workouts. I have a bowflex. I also read in corrollation with the eating every three hours that if you do small activities every 15 minutes like leg raises, squats, push-ups etc with no extra weight that you should tone your muscles as well.

All I want to do is get in shape, like what I see in the mirror better. But I think I can get a more comprehensive workout with a Bowflex. Also, doesn’t a home gym promote proper form and stuff? Be honest, should I just buy some free weights and a bench?

when the bowflex ads had a hot 50s grandma in them, it made me think about the product. but, a guy younger than me saying, "i gave my fat clothes to my fat friends" just bugs me. i’m in decent shape, sometimes i look good, sometimes i gain some pounds… but the guy’s arrogance does not make me want to buy a bowflex, and the fact that they use a DIFFERENT guy during the workout scenes makes me wonder, why didn’t they use the good-looking guy as a spokesperson? maybe coz he didn’t get his bod via bowflex?

i got a bowflew and it will be here in 2 weeks … im kinda a tuff guy to sweet talk but i was talked in to 6 week challenge from the bowflex company.
they request 6 weeks total,3 days a week,20 mins a work out to see resaults.
in the video they sent to my house showed 12 people all of them had dromatic changes in there body all lost between 20-46 pounds in 6 weeks, following there guidline of 6 weeks 3 days 20 mins.
my main question today is to see what if i push the workout to 20+ mins every day. would this harm my body build more muscle loss more fat etc….
i also forgot that these people with showed a booklet that comes with every bowflex on the main core workout and a 6 week diet plan..
forgive all my spelin errors

I’m skinny but want to be tone! I want some great ideas on toning abs, butt, and arms. I have a bowflex at home that I need to start using more often! haha.. but it’s not always fun and I don’t get that great burn all of the time – it’s more for strength training. I’ve seen commercials <i guess info-mercials!> on that Hip Hop Abs thing and that looks fun but I don’t want to pay $! Just looking for some FREE ideas to incorporate with my bowflex workouts. Thanks so much!

How can i get pecs at home without using weights? i have been doing push ups but it seems to be too much trouble with little benefits. I have an "Iron Gym" the pull up thing u see on commercials, and a bowflex though i wouldnt like to resort back to it, since it is a hastle switching between all the settings.
So, what workouts can i do at home for pecs?
What workout excersizes do i do on my bowflex for pecs? Bicep flys. etc..

Ok, I have a Bowflex sport, and I’ve been making my own workouts, but I don’t feel that everything is working right..it doesn’t feel like I’m getting a good workout.
Like bicep curls for example, I am at 40 pounds of resistance and am doing 30 reps of them, and I haven’t noticed any serious change in my bicep sizes…I’m only 15, but I want to have nice arms
Someone help!!! lol

We got a Bowflex a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been using it, sticking to my workout program. My mom tells me that it will take about six weeks before I start to see results. Are there any Bowflex users here who can attest to its reliability?

I just want to be strong like my ancestors and I know they didn’t have the Bowflex or treadmills. How the hell did they do it in the times of sword and stone? Can someone give me either a book or a link to an internet site where I can get some info on total body old school workouts?

i have both a bowflex ultimate and a whole set of weights including dumbbells, bench, all that good stuff. During workouts i like actually using both the bowflex and the free weights but for some reason free weights doesnt give me the burn in the muscles the way the bowflex does. I’m thinking because with free weights you have to deal with inertia and with the bowflex you don’t. Anyway i just feel the bowflex works my muscles better!! does anyone have any opinions on both??
