I’m 15 years old, 6′6”, and about 325 pounds.
I never cared about my weight and never did anything about it, but now I am. I’m doing this at the moment:
-Got a Bowflex
-Eating healthy meals
-(Pretty soon) going to the YMCA.
-About three hours (not all at once) workout time
How much weight do you think I will lose by the end of Summer if I continue?

please go to the following site…http://www.bowflex.com/buildmachine/wbui…
ok now what is the best value machine. the "blaze" doesn’t have adjustable pulley’s. is that a big disadvantage. the next one up from the blaze is the extreme for 99, but it doesn’t have a leg extension. so you’d need the extreme for 99. whats the best value for the best workout? thanks

my legs are already strong, & i wanna work my upperbody & abdomins much more then my legs!
how long should i work on my my arms?
my chest?
my abdomins?
my glouts/legs?
& my calves?
how long should i do each workout, how long each day should i spend on the whole workout, & how many times a week?
i understand that the lower weights=more reps & higher body muscle!
& i also understand that the muscle tear from each workout & it needs a days rest!
so which workout should 1 do each day & how many times a day?
(workout 1):
1 more question should i work my arms, shoulders, neck, back chest & abdomims 1 day, then work the lower body the next day?
is this a better workout then working each muslce group in 1 days workout, then rest 1 day, then do the workout 1 more day?
(workout 2)
or should i work the arems, upperbody, & lowerbody all in 1 day then take a days break & work out the next day?

I’m over weight. I want to loose weight. I know to exercise and watch what I eat. But, does anyone know any diets or exercises that work better than other to show results faster? I have a Bowflex but I don’t have the book that came with it that shows the workout and the diet. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of that book?

(I have a Bowflex, in case it matters)
I was just wondering, weight training and exercising properly, how long would it take to see results in a muscle group? Like, how much muscle does just ONE workout add to your triceps, biceps, ect.
Im just asking for accurate examples. How long would it take to gain muscle.
When* do you get results

3x a week i go to workout on my bowflex.
I pretty much work on whatever muscle group i’m feeling sluggish in. I do a 20 minute stretch/warm-up and I also always do 3 sets of 10-15 pushups and 2 sets of 1-4 pull-ups as i want to increase them.
That usually takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
Then I go running on the tread mill. I run for 20 minutes which is about 2 miles at a speed from 5.5-7 MPH burning from 350-400 calories and around 100-120 fat cals.
Will this work good? I’ve been doing it for about a month now, and I don’t know if I’m seeing results yet.
Remember: I want to gain upper-body muscle, but I also read that if you run afterwards, you muscles get more oxygen and you can get slightly larger results plus you work on cardiovascular activity and losing calories.

I am recovering from an eating disorder, I am trying to eat around 1200 calories a day. I workout everyday, I have the Bowflex so its mostly weight lifting. I do it for about an hour. Maybe skipping a day here and there. If I workout and burn around 150-200 calories (lifting weights) then do I need to eat another 200 calories during the day, or is that how I will maintain my weight??

Is the Bowflex TreadClimber worth its cost or is a regular treadmill just as effective?
Also, are there any workout machines you recommend?

I see all these heavy equipment ads these days supplying people with the necessary methods of getting fit and in shape, but I ask, is all this equipment really necessary? What ever happened to old fashioned methods? I mean come on people, it’s not like the bowflex has been around since the beginning of the word "workout". Yet, everywhere I look, I see workout ideas that involve heavy equipment. Isn’t there something you can do with a simple pair of weights and your own feet, legs, arms and body?

I’m a Male, 5"8 weighing 183 lbs. I play soccer 5 days a week for 2 hours, which is a great aerobic workout for me. I also do weight lifting on my Bowflex 3 days a week for around 30 mins each. How many calories do I need to eat to lose more weight? Thanks!
I also do other little exercises like crunches, etc.. when I’m bored. I am a bit muscular, so that probably adds a couple of pounds, not sure.

I posted this same question under health – fitness and just got the same ol’ sit up – push up responses…. I wanted something creative and thought the girls in beauty & style could help me out!
I’m skinny but want to be tone! I want some great ideas on toning abs, butt, and arms. I have a bowflex at home that I need to start using more often! haha.. but it’s not always fun and I don’t get that great burn all of the time – it’s more for strength training. I’ve seen commercials <i guess info-mercials!> on that Hip Hop Abs thing and that looks fun but I don’t want to pay $! Anyone have a copy?! LOL or somethin online that works just as well. Just looking for some FREE & FUN ideas to incorporate with my bowflex workouts. Thanks so much!
Well I have the blockbuster online thing so I put some dance work-out videos on top so I’ll get them soon. Hopefully it’ll help keep me intersted – I always seem to lose interest! Thanks a bunch

*I live in a small apartment
*I want to get some instructor-type videos for stretching and cardio
*I am on a budget of 0 or less for all items
*I am interested in a bowflex (or some machine) but it HAS TO target multiple parts of the body AND be something I can stow away when not in use….
Any ideas for equipment or videos?
Any ideas on what a QUALITY ADVICE site is for constructing a beginner’s workout? My biggest problem is motivation, so I’m not looking for something that will initially have my wanting to quit!!
When you leave feedback, please let me know what your own beginner’s routine was, if applicable, and also how you stay motivated if you work out alone.
If you don’t have enough room for the answer, feel free to email me blestec.zaloigra at yahoo.com!
PS – Any suggestions for fat blasting, energizing supplements/drinks/recipies to go hand in hand with working out, at least for the first three months of my new workout program?
I have an anxiety disorder so am constantly on edge – I’m hoping for something that *works* that is *safe* and that doesn’t produce too much of the shaky-tremor effect! Thanks!
PPS – This question is pertaining to working out AT HOME…. I am, at this point, too uncomfortable with my body image/anxiety issues to join a gym; when I went I got discouraged and am looking for other ways so not to make excuses and still be unhealthy…
